Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a former physician has been charged with committing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
