How the Denver Broncos together with the 'play-dough' quarterback can end that Kansas City Chiefs' rule.

NFL 2025 season: Week six
Real-time updates includes live text of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , after recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking during those contests was the amount of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the final quarter against Denver, who play in London this Sunday.
However it was positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie managed to have that deficit before direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the victory 21-17.
The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos prevailed in that battle.
They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily sending extra pass rushers but they might position two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.
Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program how Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended last season well then excelled of building upon that.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?
Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has stepped up big while recent running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows how the Broncos represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable situations.
It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass all over, however they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.
His strengths include his movement, being able to throw on the run, as well as using different arm angles to deliver throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.
If you consistently run the ball it consumes time and makes the defence to be on the field for longer, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense must cover the area vertically side to side. It can be draining.
Nix has pushed back at Payton during games at times and it seems the coach likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly develop him the way he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
Payton has won a Super Bowl and now passed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps make him what he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and build self-belief.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.
Currently, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working better than most, that's a solid position to be in their division. The key to do to continue this path.
They're really good at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the sole squad without a win any game.
Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.
The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.
This hinges on which form of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
