Former BBC advisers speaking at parliamentary committee

We open with inquiries from Tory Member of Parliament Caroline Dinenage, that leads the group.

She commences by offering background to the disclosed document written by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.

"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation slanting toward one side or the other, My only wish is for it straight, unbiased and just," he states.

In response to a query if he believes the BBC is structurally prejudiced, Prescott responds: "No I don't. Let's be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is top-tier - encompassing informative and entertainment content."

However, he continues: "There exists significant effort that needs to be done at the BBC."

The second former external BBC consultant interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it has a "persistent practice and vigorous discourse" across dynamic and complex topics.

"Was the BBC prepared to have a genuine conversation and argument and implement changes?" she reflects. "In my view, indeed, they were."
