Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
The trio have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the last year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The shortlisted athletes were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.
The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.
The ceremony will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
The Football Star

A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She came off the bench to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young women to get into cricket."
